The Learning Academy

The TERI Learning Academy (TLA) is a program for students ages 6 to 22 with significant behavioral and/or learning challenges. TLA provides academic, daily living skills, communication, social, and behavior management instruction to students whose special needs preclude placement in the public schools.  The TERI TLA Team is comprised of Certified teachers and trained aids, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). These specialists:  •    Assess and analyze behaviors •    Design positive behavior intervention and support plans •    Perform emergency interventions •    Teach new skills to replace maladaptive behaviors Established in 1999, the Learning Academy is a California Department of Education approved private special education school and tuition is paid through the student’s home school district or privately.
